GoTickets is much more than just a place for buying sports tickets. You can also find concert tickets, theater tickets, and travel packages. There is a little something for everyone, and that includes the dedicated sports fan. And the best part of it all is that GoTickets is one of the cheapest sites to buy tickets from on the internet.
GoTickets has an impressive collection of sports tickets available. You’ll find tickets for NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NCAA, boxing, tennis, golf, NASCAR and much, much more. Even though this list sounds pretty exhaustive, it turns out that GoTickets doesn’t cover quite as much as the Top 3 products in this review. Ticketmaster, for example, has even more ticket categories. This is one of the reasons that GoTickets didn’t rank higher in the review.
Another problem with GoTickets is that the site doesn’t allow you to sell your own tickets. This is a pretty standard feature of the best ticket sites. Obviously, the first concern is buying tickets on the site, and GoTickets is an excellent choice for that, but if you want to sell your own tickets, look elsewhere.
One of the biggest reasons to use GoTickets is the pricing model. The GoTickets site says that you won’t be charged a service fee when you purchase tickets. This is a huge advantage because service fees can get quite expensive on other sites.
We’re actually a little skeptical about the “no service charge” claims on the site because we’re wondering where GoTickets makes its money if there truly are no charges. Nevertheless, we’ll take them at their word. And it certainly is a good reason to use the site.
It would be nice if shipping were free too, but alas, that’s not the case. GoTickets charges $10 for shipping. Having said that, $10 is actually the cheapest shipping charge of any of the companies in this review, so we can’t complain too much about that.
One of the most frustrating fees on the GoTickets site is the one for will-call pickup of the tickets if you choose not to ship them. You’ll still pay $10 if you choose this option. The cheapest option for receiving your tickets, and coincidentally the most convenient, is to print your own tickets off. This only costs $5, which is still strange since it shouldn't cost the company anything for you to print off the tickets yourself. But again, it’s cheaper than other sites and we’ll refrain from complaining.
GoTickets is a little light on features, which is part of the reason it didn’t rank higher. For instance, you can’t sell or auction your own tickets on the site, and you can’t get gift cards either. But even with these deficiencies, GoTickets still has a lot to recommend it. First of all, the search functions are useful. You can do will-call pickup if you like. And, possibly most importantly, you can print your tickets off at home instead of shipping them. That’s one of our favorite features of all.
The GoTickets site looks a little text-heavy at first, but it’s still fairly easy to navigate. We found the individual menus were a little bit more cumbersome than we like to see, but they were still useful. If there was one thing that GoTickets lacked that would make it easier to use, it would be interactive seating charts, which make it easier to find the exact tickets you want.
GoTickets has standard tech support options in place. There is a FAQ section to answer your basic questions as well as phone and email support options if you need more help.
GoTickets really is a great place to buy tickets. A smaller selection of tickets and a few missing features, like the ability to sell your own tickets, keep it from ranking higher. But other great features, like the search function and the ability to print tickets, make sure it’s still a major contender in the world of Online Sports Tickets.
